How to apply color gel?

The medium-viscosity emmi®NAIL color gel is easy to apply, has excellent coverage and a unique color brilliance . But what is the best way to apply the nail color? We recommend our full-cover brush made from high-quality human hair. It is easy to clean and ensures a streak-free full-cover nail design .

You'll find the most important tips and tricks in our clear, step-by-step instructions. Most importantly, make sure that you are not exposed to sunlight when applying.

Step 1:

Prepare your natural nail as usual.

Push back your cuticles with a rosewood stick or metal spatula and remove the excess cuticles with cuticle scissors or cuticle nippers.

Remove any lifts from your old nail polish, i.e. any areas where the gel has come away from the nail. File the free end of your nail into shape, then matt the nail with a buffer.

From now on, please do not touch the natural nail with your fingers.

Step 2:

Apply the primer stick (air-drying) to the natural nail.

Step3:

Apply a thin layer of your primer/base gel to your nails, massaging with the gel brush. Then cure the nails in the UV/LED lamp*

Clean your gel brush between the different types of gel with cleaner and a cellular tissue.

*Curing time: UV or LED 2 minutes

Step 4:

Model directly onto the primed nail with your build-up/builder gel. Then cure the nail in the UV/LED lamp*

Remove the sweat layer from the sculpted nail with cleaner and a cellular tissue.

*Curing time: UV lamp 2 min. or LED lamp 1 min.

Step 5:

File and smooth your modeling evenly with a file. Then gently remove small irregularities with the buffer. Dust off the nail thoroughly with the nail brush.

Step 6:

Using your clean gel brush, apply the desired color of our color gels in two thin coats. After the first and second coat, cure the nail in the UV/LED lamp*

*Curing time: UV lamp 2 minutes or UV/LED lamp 1 minute

Step 7:

Apply the sealing gel evenly to the finished sculpted nails using the gel brush. Then cure the nail in the UV/LED lamp*

Remove the sweat layer from the sealing gel with High-Gloss Cleaner and a cellular tissue. With our non-sticky sealers there is of course no need to remove a layer of perspiration.

*Curing time: UV lamp 2 min. or UV/LED lamp 1 min.

For the matt effect, use our Velvet Sealing as an alternative.

Step 8:

Treat the cuticles with nail oil as required & your full cover nail design is DONE.
